Antique China 925 Sterling Silver Cloisonne Turquoise Cross Chain Necklace Gilt—I think this piece might be considered Basse-Taille a form of enameling using flat wire to form frames for the glass. In jewelry, these pieces were made on Sterling or some other base metal and gilded with gold.
This gorgeous cross in whites, blue, and red is accented by turquoise and carnelian Cabochons capping the ends and the center. Fully decorated on both sides. Cross and chain marked BJ 925 China. Hangs on a lovely, delicate, gilded gold link chain.
Excellent condition. Approximate measurements:
Chain—18” long
Cross—1 3/4” tall by 1 5/8” wide.
